Pail Feeder, 1- Gallon (Bucket Feeder)

We love pail feeders because they are simple, convenient and hygienic and less prone to and intrusion than tray feeders.  However, standard pail feeders incorporate a fine mesh screen in the lid through which the bees draw the sugar syrup. The bees quickly clog this screen with propolis, and it is tedious to clean.   The screenless pail feeder uses small holes clustered at the center.  These work really well, and are much easier to clean with an included thumbtack.   We find that the beess tend to propolise the holes only after the feeder is empty.

They allow the beekeeper to see how much syrup is left without having to go inside the hive to check. Comes with plastic feeder and perforated lid. Jar is not included, but a standard mayo. jar will fit.

We suggest purchasing an extra lid for each Boardman feeder you purchase in case the lid that comes with it is lost or damaged.

These Boardman lids measure .63” high by 2.875” wide.  They can be cleaned with warm water and we recommend cleaning them at the end of every season.
