Premium Telescoping Lid with Integrated Spacer Shim

Premium Telescoping Lid:  Made in our Oregon and Virginia wood shops, this deep telescoping cover gives premium year-round protection for your hive. At the top of its 3” frame is a polymetal cover with generous overhang that deflects moisture away from the hive. The shallow slope on this cover allows you to place your beekeeping  tools on it while still allowing moisture runoff over the eaves.  Directly under the cover is a 3/8” exterior grade plywood panel that adds rigidity and overall strength.  Below this is a shim that creates an internal space that allow room for insulation, and dry feeding in winter.    An optional Heat Reflecting Liner fits into this shim.  

Optional Heat Reflecting Liner:  This liner, when installed inside the shim of the Deep Telescoping Cover creates outstanding  insulation value by maintaining the air gap that is crucial to its high performance.    

Quality:  Our products are locally built in small batches to ensure close attention to quality.  We only use premium quality components. Our wood frame is rabbet jointed, glued and stapled for great strength.  The plywood panel is also glued and stapled to the frame. The polymetal cover is attached with stainless steel screws.
